New Coldplay (Feat. Jay-Z) - "Lost+"

thubmnail icon: New Coldplay (Feat. Jay-Z) - "Lost+"

The latest in the ongoing "I discovered Coldplay first" drama between Jay-Z and Kanye finds Hova dropping in for a guest verse on Viva La Vida single "Lost!" It's been retitled "Lost+" and appears on the forthcoming Prospekt's March EP. Jay's cameo starts halfway through and lasts for about a minute. He namechecks Biggie and Jesus, and Caesar and Brutus, and if that sounds familiar it's because his part has apparently been recycled from a Hot 97 freestyle from 2006.

Sound quality is meh because it's a radio rip. You can hear in high fidelity when the EP drops 11/19.

Surprised Jay-Z did not make any diss comments against Liam or Noel Gallagher.

It's essentially just Lost! with Jay-Z rapping over the guitar solo. I mean...it's not terrible. I just expected more?

"Lost!" really is a great song from Coldplay. It sounds like a gospel song you would hear in a black church. I've heard several remixes of "Lost!" in the same format of a rapper rapping over the bridge of the song. At least this one features a good rapper.

The original version is one of the best songs on a very good album. I like Jay-Z, but his presence here doesn't really add anything.

Wait a second, why wouldn't Coldplay and T-Pain be awesome? T-Pain makes straight hits, and we know it.

Way to make an effort Jay-Z.

Gotta love how these big-time rappers take so much pride in their work.

Congratulation to Coldplay on achieving the ultimate desperate measure to becoming a wash-up pop act: feature a rapper on their songs.

Please leave this kind of stunts for JLo or Madonna. If they really like each other why not make an original song?

this seems to be Jay-Z's thing now to just take a popular song that's a hit on its own and than coax his way into putting an uneccassary verse to it to keep him up to date with whats popular. I know he found Rhianna or whatever but he didnt need to be on the umbrella song and his verse on Amy Winehouse's Rehab that got released in the US was completely a joke and now this. He's starting to remind me of that seen from Austin Powers where Dr. Evil starts doing the macrena saying, "look I'm hip, i'm cool". Almost as bad as 40 yr old Jaime Foxx at the Mtv music awards this year going up to present and having 15 yr old miley cyrus caught on camera blowing him a kiss.

Jay-Z has always done guest verses on a plethora of songs. Hence him being one of the most consistently prolific MC in the game for the past ten years or so.

That's uhh...nothing like Jamie Foxx presenting an award.

This is just another example of Coldplay's celebrity pandering. They just want to please and appease the masses. This is what happens when clean cut upper middle class British boys start bands. At least U2 had to actually work to get where they are. Good songs or not, Coldplay have no balls.

...because Jay-Z approached them about being on one of their songs?

Jay-Z hasn't asked U2 to do a remix of 'Vertigo' because U2 is boring. Coldplay's got appeal that crosses genres.
